About Me

Thanks to adventurous parents, I’ve been camping for most of my life. My passion for exploring Australia never seems to wane; there is so much to see and so much to experience. I fell into travel writing after I produced a web page for friends that described where I had been and what I had done.

This was before blogging was a “thing”, but it did the job. Fast forward a few years and, out of the blue, I contacted the editor of a camper trailer magazine and told him about a trip we were about to undertake, he liked it and told me to put something together when I got home. I didn’t know how to “pitch”, “copy” or “editorialise” an article, I just knew how to convey my love of travel into words and add imagery to help tell the story.

As a freelancer, I’ve become the writer, photographer and adventurer I am now. There is still room for growth, but I’m on my way to where I want to be. I’m also a full-writer member of the Australian Society of Travel Writers and TravMedia, which has helped my development.

I’ve had over 200 articles and photographs published in Australian magazines including 4X4 Australia, Pat Callinan’s 4×4 Adventures, Unsealed 4×4 and RV Daily (MadVenture), Camper Australia, Hema Maps, Caravan World (Emprise Group), CamperMate (Outdoria Pty Ltd), GoRV (GoRV Pty Ltd), Loaded 4×4 (Lost Track Media Pty Ltd), Adventure-SUV (Mayne Media), Go Camping Australia (Vink Publishing), Caravan and Motorhome on Tour and Camper Trailer Touring (EMG).

I enjoyed the challenges that Editor at Large of Camper Australia magazine offered and managing the New Gear section of 4X4 Australia magazine. However, returning to freelance travel writing will help me fulfil my destiny.

Living the dream, Sharing the Experience.
