About Me

I’ve been camping for most of my life, thanks to adventurous parents. My passion for exploring Australia never seems to wane; there is so much to see, so much to experience. I fell into travel writing after I produced a web page for friends that described to them where I had been and what I had done.

This was way before blogging was a “thing” but it did the job. Fast forward a few years and, out of the blue, I contacted the editor of a camper trailer magazine and told him about a trip we were about to undertake, he liked it and told me to put something together when I got home. I didn’t know how to “pitch”, “copy” or “editorialise” an article, I just knew how to convey my love of travel into words and add imagery to help tell the story.

As a freelancer, I’ve grown into the writer, photographer and adventurer that I am now. There is still room for growth, but I’m on my way to where I want to be. I’m also an associate writer member of the Australian Society of Travel Writers and TravMedia, which has helped my development.

I’ve had over 100 articles and photographs published in Australian magazines including 4×4 Australia (Bauer Media), Pat Callinan’s 4×4 Adventures, Unsealed 4×4 and RV Daily (Pat Callinan Media Pty Ltd), Camper Australia, Hema Maps, Caravan World (Emprise Group), CamperMate (Outdoria Pty Ltd), GoRV (GoRV Pty Ltd), Loaded 4×4 (Lost Track Media Pty Ltd), Adventure-SUV (Mayne Media), Go Camping Australia (Vink Publishing), Caravan and Motorhome on Tour and Camper Trailer Touring (EMG).

I enjoyed the challenges that Editor at Large of Camper Australia magazine offered, however, it was decided to stop publication of the monthly magazine and go 100% digital, meaning my position was redundant. I am now leading the content for the Hema Maps blog as well as returning to freelance writing.

Living the dream, Sharing the Experience.
